Have you received disappointing news through an email lately? Don’t get me wrong. I love email. It’s a revolutionary means to communicate. Besides, it is short and sweet and has a multitude of options to pass along information. Guys can relate to those efficiency items.

But, email is notorious for misinforming mood, atmosphere, innuendo, and subtleties. It’s next to impossible to interpret attitude through an email. For all of the ups that this means of communication offers it falls short of any depth of meaning that isn’t clearly spelled out.

My writing career is a bit storied. Yes, I am published. My book Racial Equality in the Church was published by the University Press of America. But, it had only one run and is now out of print. Since then I have had articles, devotionals, and reviews published in various journals and magazines.

A number of years ago I signed with a literary agency to advance my writing productivity. My first agent disappeared. Apologetically, the owner of the agency took on my projects personally. That relationship never went any where either. It was filled with promise but did not produce a single publication.
