When you are coming up with the title for a project, there are many directions you can go. You can self title it. You can name it after one of you favorite tracks. Or you can create some witty title out of thin air.

We went with a different approach. We pulled a single word out of one of the songs. That word was “ember” and it was pulled from the line “when the glow fades on my final ember” from the first track on the CD, “The Burn”.

Why “ember”? It’s simple, really. When you burn a fire, those red-hot coals left over are the embers. I can tell you from personal experience that these embers are as hot if not hotter than the fire itself.

Now the best thing about embers is that as long as you have embers you have the potential for fire. Just take some sticks of leaves and toss them on top of those glowing embers. Then blow air onto the embers and see what happens. In moments that fire will be blazing once again.

We want to be embers because when you cross embers and the breath of God you have fire.

And nothing cleanses like fire.

NEXT WEEK: The Recording of “ember"
