A Word of Prayer
Dear God of all comforts,
You are the Lord who said, " I am He who comforts you". You are the comfort unto us. You are the Lord who comforts all who mourn. We look to you for mercy. We pray for those who are grief stricken and pain gripped. Have mercy on them. Restore comfort unto them. We pray for those who have lost their dear ones. Comfort them as the mother comforts her child. Wipe away the tears from their eyes and gladden their hearts. You are the father unto them. They are helpless without you! You have said, "The broken and contrite heart you shall not despise" You will not cast them out. Gather them into their bosom. Thank you for hearing our prayer O, Lord! Amen!
