OK..I have this years contest in the discussion section of the American Idol group. All you have to do is predict the top 5 now and each week pick who is getting voted off. Quick summary of tonight..I was really happy! I wanted Megan and Jasmine of the girls. I wanted Matt or Ricky of the boys, but figuring that only one guy would make it and it would be Anoop, I didn't have my hopes up. But then they picked Matt! Thoughts on the results show as it goes on live...
They do Katy Perry's Hot and cold for group song..it's going to be hard to do these dance and sing numbers all year if Scott is on the show. It was well done tonight.
I'm glad they are going to announce the wild card selections at the end of the show..this means the judges must know who is going through tonight before Ryan says who it is.

here is what I wrote live in the discussion group in the Idol group discussions.
OK..this years format is really going to make you stand out the first time you perform..or it will be your only shot. If if it was this way last year David cook probably wouldn't have made it to top 12..as he was just middle of the pack average until he did "Hello" 4 or 5 weeks into the show.

here is the wrap up of everything I wrote today in the Idol discussions..the first part was a live blog then the rest is a summary.
first batch..Anoop going through was a no brainer. Von Smith made it but I think he's an over singer..maybe he will calm down a bit.

Well, we had a fantastic Super Bowl for the second time in a row. I think the perception that the Super Bowl is a boring game is officially over as most of the games this decade have been pretty competitive. A lot of reporters said this years was the best Super Bowl of all time but I would probably have it third. Bills-Giants is still the closest game and it went back and forth the entire game, unfortunately for me Norwood missed the final kick. Last years game was a bigger upset and also closer…

It's been awhile since I updated you on things...
My brother Dean started his chemo for his bladder cancer a few weeks ago. Last week he said he felt better than he has in 3 months! It started right after the leaders of my church did some heavy duty praying for him after our worship concert. Wouldn't it be something if the next trip to the doctor the cancer was gone?! Keep praying for his salvation too!

I posted this blog in December of my favorite CD's of 2008. Since then I got another bunch of CD's that came out last year. I'm going to insert then in CAPS to where I would slot them now.
That having been said..here are my top CD's:
1) Third Day..Revelation. The boys return with possibly the best CD of their career..easily the best of 2008 for me. Mac never has sounded better..a great mix of rockers and radio ready singles.
