Through the centuries, there have always been those who have predicted the end of the world. December 21, 2012 is a date many are looking forward to with apprehension. The cataclysmic upheaval of the earth is dramatized in the movie titled 2012. There are many theories - some of them scary. As Christians, how should we handle this? Read my thoughts here; 2012 - The End of the World? Continue

Rev. Marshall Barth In all things...

Praise the LORD!!! In all things, are we told to sing praises to the LORD! How often do we actually do this? Do we praise HIS name when there are troubles at our doorway? Do we praise HIM when sitting in traffic waiting to do some ‘Black Friday’ shopping? Or when someone dishonors us and our beliefs? Let us look at this deeply, for in it lies many of the problems within our walks and our churches this day! GOD has given us this directive for a reason and a very good one. It shows where our hear… Continue

Salmon Ponross Jesus, the Gift to the world

"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift" 2 Corinthians 9:15 This message was published by me during the season of Christmas in various sites. It was widely read. I dedicate this article to my loving dad who passed away on 10th Feb. 2008. Joy to the World The spirit of Christmas is pervading our homes. Christmas carolers sing joyously "Joy to the world" standing outside out doors. We are busy preparing for the holyday season. One should not miss the real meaning of Christma… Continue

NarniaFans.com Disney jumps ship on next Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Wow, when I woke up today, on Christmas Eve, I did not expect to read this headline all over my inbox. I did notice an awful lot of stories with Narnia in the title, and as I started to look at them, the first one I noticed was this headline: Disney jumps ship on next “Narnia.” My heart sank. Disney has been so good to us, here at NarniaFans.com, that I was looking forward to working with them again on the next Narnia. Here’s hoping that another studio takes the opportunity to pick up where Dis… Continue

Evie Haskell Barefoot

Friday night at youth group, Josh described the story in which Jesus washes his disciples' feet. I watched as a small group of students were offered a chance to have their feet washed by the adult leaders of the group. Uncomfortable, embarrassed, and nervous, they eagerly refused to take part in the activity. Granted, they are high-schoolers, and ones that have known these adults for merely a couple months. They had every reason to be uncomfortable, and I'll admit, I was uncomfortable, too. But… Continue

Paul Gyomory The Blessings In The Storm:

The Blessings In The Storm: I did not know His love before, The way I know it now. I could not see my need for Him, My pride would not allow. I had it all, without a care, The "self-sufficient" lie. My path was smooth, my sea was still, Not a cloud was in my sky. I thought I knew His love for me, I thought I'd seen His grace, I thought I did not need to grow, I thought I'd found my place. But when the way grew rough and dark, The storm clouds quickly rolled; The waves began to rock my ship,… Continue

Beck Wavory Conquers - Wavorly's "Conquering the Fear of Flight" - Album Review

Wavorly began in 2001, as a punk pop band called Freshman 15. Between then and now they have grown into mature sounding modern rock band, and they only have one album out! Drawing from a long line of influences from Relient K to Classic music to Dream Theater, they have a very fresh sound. I first heard of Wavorly from the NRT podcast and I was hooked. Their debut sounds like it could be any other band's third or forth effort, proving that this is no ordinary group. The first full song "Madmen… Continue

Beck Sons of the South - Maylene & the Sons of Disaster's Self Titled Debut - Album Review

Maylene & the Sons of Disaster is a hard name to forget. They were formed in 2004 by Dallas Taylor of Underoath fame. Dallas says that Maylene is derived from the tale of Ma Barker, one of the last organized crime bosses of the 20th century. Both their band name and lyrics reflect that story. Southern born and bred, Maylene's debut album offers up a unique blend of southern rock and metal that will appeal to fans of either genre. The album was released in 2005, when I was in Jr. High. A fri… Continue

Diane Chronicles of the Church

About 10 months agoish, Father had placed upon my heart to compile a book. I truly had no idea which direction He wanted to take it just knew I needed to be obedient in action. I will be placing the responses on my blog as they come in. Let us be Invisible Lord-let us be Invisible. Diane **************************************** Good Afternoon, The reason I am writing to you is because I am compiling a book together. Beck The Great Line Redefined - Underoath's "Lost in the Sound of Separation" - Album Review

I was in Abilene Texas, in Lifeway, on September 2nd. I wasn't having very good luck in their music department, it was overtly obvious that I was no longer in Houston. Here we have a nice diverse range of genres in our Lifeways. But in Abilene they don't have music sections, they have Third Day sections. Nothing against Third Day, but I think that an entire two shelves devoted to them is a little much. I had almost given up when I caught Lost in the Sound of Separation out of the corner of my ey… Continue
