Well, ya know, he needs to realize there's more than just him in this whole equation; and I'm not going to do anything to hurt him. We deserve to get past what happened, and the only way we'll do that is to get back in touch with each other.

And I am very grateful that Josh is being nice again-see? I knew if you just sent him little chatty emails it would eventually melt his defenses-of course, I also told him he should email you, too, so I been workin on botha ya;)

Okay, well, this New Josh just happened within the last month; he wasn't exactly chatty with me in November, either, or before that that much...he has a new roommate who is a dedicated Christian and apparently God used him to break through to Josh. I don't want to tell you the whole story, cuz it's Josh's to tell. Just keep reaching out once in awhile; that's what I did. Sent him Christmas and birthday cards, and about three times a year a short email asking how he was doing. Let him know I still love him, no matter what, and that I wasn't going to turn my back on him regardless of what was going on (or not going on) between us. Love is unconditional. That's why I have stayed in touch with you as well; not that you've ever turned your back on me, but we've definitely had our problems, haven't we? um hm...
So maybe he just doesn't know how to go about reaching out first-you know how guys are. And he's always been tenderhearted and has had to deal with some major insecurities; and guys don't deal with that stuff as well as we do. Just let him know you love him and that you would like to hear from him when he's ready to communicate. Kind words conquer.
So exciting that you're going to pursue flight school!!! Did I ever tell you that I thought about becoming a flight attendant when I was younger? Yeah---I thought it would be exciting to get to fly all over the world. Had an aunt who worked for TWA in their Kansas City office.
