- About Me
- The Word "Sonshine" means to shine for the SON. The "SON" is the second in the trinity which is Jesus Christ. not always following that path Sonshine has known both sides of the road. never claiming to be a "Thug Character" or "Drug Dealer" or even a "Gansta", Mike Sonshine Holmes was just a sinner who happened to fall into the arms of a graceful God. born to two young parents Mike grew up in a good home, even when his parents divorced when he was a kid he always had the influence of a father figure. his father was always there for him, supported his mother and his mother worked hard. around the ages or 11 or 12 Mike discovered a little thing called Hip-Hop that would later become a way of life...... After listening to rappers such as Master P and The Hot Boyz, popular in the south and other rappers like Big Punisher and Nas Mike began to compose his own rhymes. often picked on as a kid Mike would turn to Hip-Hop to escape from the pain of it all. "I would turn on my headphones and listen to someone else's story and it would make me escape from whatever i was dealing with." says Mike. around the age of 14 Mike started going to church and would later write a rap to the notorious B.I.G. Song "Hypnotize" and perform it in front of his youth church. "I was so scared but afterwards i knew that this was what i wanted to do. not too long after that on the church van Mike met too real aka AC and formed a close friendship that still remains to this day. they formed a group called "Deep Impact" and after some ups and downs with Ex Members, they decided to become a "Duo". Deep Impact has performed with rappers such as Jacob Izrael, K-Drama, Kd3, 20 the REMIX, and most recently opened for Lecrae From Reach Records. Sonshine is heavily involved in the mixtape circuit and has a mixtape out called "The Great Commission".
