About Me

A person is the summation of so many stories. People, places, and things interact to create events that define us. For me I've been involved in so many events, indebted to so many people that it would be dishonest to try to describe "Me" in a paragraph or two. I've experienced tragedy, joy, friendship... as we all have. As I grow older I have this sense of belonging to humanity in a way I didn't before. We all have ached, asked tough questions, seen beauty, and experienced these things in life that define us as being human. I'm just a piece in this puzzle, no more interesting or important than you. My music is just my small part to play; its how I interact with things in life and express the difficulties and successes I've had being "Me". We all have so much to say with so few people to listen to us; maybe I could listen to you sometime.

Grew up in the church, in a Christian home, grew up leading worship and writing worship songs; but still didn't really find Jesus real until my 20's. But I can say He's real.

I was raised to think scientifically. In life I look for hypotheses, theories, and evidences supporting or usurping whichever idea I encounter. I have been taught that objective thought is superior to faith driven thought; I also value my objective thought when it does not discriminate against other thoughts, just when it disproves the ones containing no verifiable evidence. Defining Infinite Absolutes

I fear this entry may be hard to follow (if any of my blog entries are easy anyway!) Hopefully it makes some sense.

I’ve been caught between two Christian ideals recently. Sometimes with these big thoughts I may be seeing things funny; but regardless, I’ve still found my thoughts caught up. Superlative Christianity

I’ve recently read a few miscellaneous articles about various Christian topics. In them I discovered a common use of excessive superlatives when describing the faith. It is the use of great, exceptional, fanatical, wonderful, zealous, extreme, radical, and other related words to describe God, the nature of the gospel and our condition as saints.
