I really like your comments---I know what you're saying about the different emotions...crazy but it is what makes us us...What is serious...dancing? :)
Why do you like black & white photography? Its appeal is a mystery to me.
San Antonio. My sister lives there so I've been there several times (I live in Michigan.) I've never been to Santa Fe but I dream of going there someday.
So tell me, do you think what you know about microbiology could have occurred through random, evolving processes or that they must have been designed? It seems people deeply involved in science see more evolutionary evidence than people who are not.
Welcome to myCCM.org.We are excited about the growth in our community and the new features that are being added.Stick around,we're a friendly bunch!

About Me
Hello there :D
My name is Jessica.
Thank you for stopping by. Here is a little bit about myself ...
Sometimes I love myself and sometimes i hate myself. Sometimes I feel like being extremely serious and sometimes I'm silly and make no sense.
The one thing I am completely sure about is that I am a nerd. I love music, movies, video games, being on the computer, wearing nerdy t-shirts, and saying nerdy things. I like going to concerts, shopping, the library, museums, and all the simple things that make life enjoyable. I am also a really big San Antonio Spurs fan :)
I can go on and on about science if you let me but I am also interested in theology, philosophy, literature and life. I like asking questions and I like learning new things. I love surrounding myself with different minds and personalities because I do not want to miss out on anything.
You can check me out on Myspace if you'd like :)

P.S. I will be moving to Santa Fe, NM for six months beginning in August so I will be needing to find some cool friends to hang out with in Santa Fe ^_^
I am currently a student at the UTHSC in San Antonio where I study cytogenetics. I start my clinical rotation in July and I am a little nervous but very excited about that. I received my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor from Our Lady of the Lake University.
I live, eat, sleep, and breathe chromosomes. I culture them, harvest them, drop them, and analyze them. I look for any kind of abnormality (translocations, deletions, duplications, microdeletions, etc) to diagnose syndromes, cancer, and explain spontaneous abortions and other things of that nature. I am excited to begin working with Fluorescence In-situ Hybridization (FISH), CGH, and microarrays. It is tedious and frustrating but I love it. I love the challenge and I love knowing that there are not many people out there who do what I do.
When I'm not being a scientist I love taking pictures. Photography is definitely my second passion. Black and white film photography makes me happy :)
Things I love: My nerds, my pug, Music, Photography and other forms of fine art, nerdy boys, scruffy beards, going to concerts, a good cup of caffeine, histology, grapefruit, black eyeliner, visiting museums, visiting the Library, sunsets & sushi, free things, the smell of air, rain without thunder, road trips, being in the front row, ticker tape parade highs, serious dancing, silly dancing, love liberty disco, hablando en espanol, hockey fights, diversity, variety, organic chemistry, logic, form and function, cytology, ginger ale, nachos from Chachos, dissecting microscopes, baklava, polka dots, frogs, penguins, and giraffes! I would love to visit Ireland, Italy, France, Haiti, Spain, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
