About Me
"Been pushin' CCM since 1974"

Yeah, ever since I was in high school I've been pushing contemporary Christian music on people--other Christians, mostly--because I think there's great value in listening to music with lyrics that help you stay focused on God. It's not that I don't listen to secular music, but rather that there are so many good Christian musicians out there that even Christians aren't familiar with. Behind me in my profile pictures are records, cassettes, and (gasp!) even 8-track tapes! But I also have plenty of CDs, MDs, and an iPod full of music.

As much as I'd like to check the box "My faith defines me," I don't feel I'm worthy of that box because of how little time I actually spend alone with God, and how too much of my life resembles everyone else's instead of being uniquely defined as Kingdom living (helping the poor, or orphans and widows, or those sick and in prison, etc.). But on the other hand, I am steadfast in my belief that Jesus is the one for me to follow.

Telecast Resurrected

In the past couple weeks, I have resurrected an album that was in my top 20 favorite albums of 2005. The album itself is from 2003, but I didn't buy it until 2005, so that's why it ranked then. The album is The Beauty Of Simplicity by Telecast. It has a gentle, sweet pop sound and all of the lyrics are vertically focused (which in most cases means worship-oriented). I have some good worship experiences while listening to this album. I'm not sure what has brought it into such active play i… Continue

On Christmas Day, my sister-in-law got a DVD of Mamma Mia. I hate cooking but don't mind dishes, so I volunteered to do the dishes providing I didn't have to help cook. So while I was doing dishes, she put Mamma Mia on the home theater system. I could not see the screen from the kitchen, but I could easily hear the music, which was cranked up to a solid volume. It was great hearing all those old ABBA songs again, and from time to time I danced around the room as they played.

That… Continue

Hey J Lee

That is good you have heard of Andy Hunter and you enjoyed his first album. I guess his latest album wasn't one of your favorite albums from him. Keep listening to Dream Lab which I haven't heard of before but it seems you listen to Dream Lab a lot and enjoy it which is a good thing. Bye and God bless you.

Lol! No I was more going for The Incredible Hulk. Prolly should have gone with green eyes, but I can see where you would think that. As for H.G. Wells' The War of the World, yeah I like it. Always did find it funny that people thought that Orson Welles was reporting actual news, lol.

Hey J Lee

Submerged is mostly female vocals on all of their songs on their Don't Hide album. The only song that has male vocals and female vocals together is The Beating Of The Heart (Alternative Version) but please check out Submerged as I have them in my friends so check out their songs on their profile then you like it then you can buy their album on iTunes. I have no idea why they changed their name to VOTA and I have no idea what VOTA means either. I have only heard Alright from their first album when they were known as Casting Pearls and it is a good rockin song. Check out VOTA in my friends and listen to some songs from their new album on their profile then you like it then you can buy it on iTunes or in your local Christian book store. I hope what I said helped. Bye and God bless you.

Hey J Lee

Thanks for the comment on the X Christmas album review blog. It seems your looking for a new Christmas CD to listen to. X Christmas is a good rockin Christmas album if you like rockin versions of different Christmas songs. I would also recommend WOW Christmas albums as they are two great CD's filled with Christmas songs from Various Christian artists. Also check out Christmas albums from BarlowGirl, Bebo Norman, Jars Of Clay, and Casting Crowns. Those are all great Christmas albums. I also have to say the Christmas albums from Leigh Nash and Sixpence None The Richer are good ones too. Check out those albums and see which one you like the most. Those are just my recommendations to you of my favorite Christmas albums. I also forgot It's Christmas by Mandisa is a awesome Christmas album so check it out. Bye and God bless you.

hi there..I think you can copy that cat with the headphones on to your picture folders then use it where you want it. If you join the cat lovers group you can see 4 more like that if you scroll down the comment box.
Fee is pretty straight forward but they might rock a little harder than tomlin's latest. Superchicks lyrics are still not that deep..just a bunch of catchy rock tunes. God Bless..Jimbo

Yes, I do. I typically listen to everything my parents do (and more) and they got my to like zydeco and reggae basically by forcing me to listen. lol
I'm glad they did, even though I resented it at the time.
