What makes a good Christmas CD?
Everyone has a different opinion on what they like in a Christmas CD. Do you prefer all originals? All songs about Jesus or a mix?
This is what I like. If the CD has 12 songs I would like 4 classics about the birth..Silent Night etc....4 classics that are just fun songs like Let It Snow...and 4 original songs..preferably at least 1 of the songs new takes on the birth of Christ. I actually prefer to hear secular artists sing about Christ and Christian artists to sing fun songs..just to hear the artists go outside their comfort zone. That's why I think Mariah Carey's CD is the perfect mix of sacred and fun and originals. Others that mix it up nicely are Amy, Third Day and Mercy Me. An album that just has 10 standards bores me to pieces. Todd Agnew has only a few classic songs but the best new songs about the birth..it's a great CD but maybe not one you play while having a sing along in the car!
