This is a song I wrote about a week ago, and with my limited time I was still able to finish it and record it to the state that it is presentable. (You can listen to it on my page)
This song was originally written with my friend Seth in mind, who you should all know from this site. He recently lost his aunt this year and his dad a few years ago. I have never met Seth in person, but I know he loves the Lord and has always been there to pray for others and encourage others here, and I consider him a good friend and brother in the Lord.
So this song is for all those Seth’s out there who have lost someone (I know many of you have here) or are just struggling financially or in whatever way it may be (Marriage, home, school, lost jobs, broken relationships etc…).
With all songs I write, I pray they will bless the Lord and minister to those who listen to them.
Also comments are always welcome.
Jesus You’re our Comfort (Song for Seth)
Verse
Now that you’ve gone away, I still want to say, “I Love you”
I think of your smiling face, your warm embrace, I miss you
Now that you have gone, how I can go on, without you
But in my time of need, Jesus comforts me, He loves me
Chorus
Jesus, You’re my comfort in these times of heartaches
You’re my healer in these times of pain
You are the one I cry out to in times of hurting
Jesus hold me in Your arms again
Verse
I saw homeless man, tired and dirty, hanging his head in shame
I saw a woman standing on the corner, trying to sell her pain
I saw a child cold and hungry, and crying
I saw a hurting people, not knowing what to do
Chorus
Jesus, You’re their comfort in these times of heartaches
You’re their healer in these times of pain
You’re the one they cry out to in times of hurting
Jesus hold them in Your arms again
Verse
I read your word that said "Come to me, all of you who are weary
and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Chorus
Jesus, be our comfort in times of heartaches
Be our healer in times of pain
You’re the one we cry out to in times of hurting
Jesus hold us in Your arms again
Verse
Heal our lands, heal our hearts, heal our homes
We are a nation, crying out to You
We cry out, to You oh Lord, in humbleness
Forgive us Lord, for turning our backs on You
