Stick with me on this because I feel your pain & frustration. I am a coach. In high school sports you have to be constantly looking for the next great athlete or team. But how can I give my whole focus on my current team if all I see is the problems of the future. Well I can't. 19 years of paid coaching and almost 30 years total, I have come to see the blessing of recruiting. But I can't be everywhere to do that job. I train my athletes to coach and recruit as well as play. This way I never lack for talent or committment. As Christians we witness and see others come to Christ. Well if I put my energy in developing like minded individuals in Christ, then I will see the beauty of discipleship. Keep your focus right in front of yourself, because that is what God has given you to do right now. Let Him care for the big picture. He has no "plan B" as Rich Mullins use to say. Right now, teach 2 people to do what you do in Christ. Then turn them loose to go find their 2 people. While they do that, go find 2 more and so on. We need to be ones who produce "reproducers". Dawson Trotman taught this principle. His vision continues though he passed in a drowning accident back in the 50's. He saved the life of one who was struggling though he himself could not swim! Check out his legacy for yourself. He founded "The Navigators" with this very simple method. You will see spiritual dividends soon enough. God Bless, kp.
