We're sorry, but this discussion has just been closed to further replies.
Sorry, that was actually my fault.Logging on at 6am and getting a "closed for maintenance" announcement. There should be a means of alerting users to maintenance periods before the server is taken offline - especially if it is planned maintenance (I understand emergencies).
The comment toolbar doesn't allow much - pretty bland. We can't select a font, color, size. As you may have heard, it needs a smiley face widget button (the chat tool has one, why not the comment toolbar?).No direct alternative to sending Bulletins. I like the Bulletin feature from the other site. I know you can select send a message to "all my friends", but that isn't quite the same thing.
Having "friends" and "members" instead of "Peeps". Every social networking site has friends, myCCM was unique with Peeps. (I hope you haven't given up on this one).
I agree with Craig on the bulletins and peeps thing, and Tara on the chat thing... Actually, I didn't even know there was a chat thing down there! haha I did see the online thing, but didn't realize it was a chat...
I just realized that we had messages in our inbox... I didn't see the button up top that lights up to show you have a new message... so maybe if there was some way to make that more noticeable.
But the biggest thing, I think, is that there's no really way to tell who's an artist or who's just a regular member because anyone can upload music, and all the profiles look the same. The only real way you can tell is who joins the artist group... But I think anyone could join that anyway, right? So just some way to mark that it's an artist page would be cool. :]
Besides those things, I think the site is very nice. I like it a lot.
Yeah, I'm hoping they have a release that makes the fact that one has new message more obvious.
I'm going to lock down the Artist and Writers groups. I'll review the ones that apply to be added to the group to ensure that the person is an artist.
This will mean a little more work on our end, however, it should improve the overall group. As it is on the old site anyone can create a new artist profile... there is no vetting process.
I'll need to get our legal department to review the whole upload music thing. I'm pretty sure people aren't allowed to upload music to which they do not own the copyright... that means the regular folk that upload DC Talk etc will have it taken down so we can avoid lawsuits.
Obviously, an artist would be allowed to upload their own music.
That will set things apart somewhat.
Another thing would be for the artist to have a CSS or theme that they upload that sets them apart.
I'm sure if we all put our heads together we'll figure something out.
Great feedback everyone!

There is also another to upload music by posting a link to the song to upload it to your playlist. Fred would you know if that a legal way of uploading music to your playlist or not? is it ok to post YouTube videos from Christian artists like music videos or whatever it may be on your profile? would that be legal or not? just some stuff I am wondering about Fred if you know anything about it
I think if it is on YouTube you can use the imbed here.
Not sure if music works the same way though.

Ok that is good to know that YouTube videos can work on here. I was just wondering adding a song from a website like ieem into my music playlist would work or if that isn't legal way of putting songs into a playlist on here.
